This transcription of the teachings transmitted in New York in 1999 contains the text of the four lines written by the master Khyenrab Chokyi Ozer and the related oral commentary by Rinpoche. Among other things Chogyal Namkhai Norbu is saying: “”Some people say that to practice the Dzogchen teachings you don’t need a teacher or transmission, you can learn it from a book and then you can apply it. This is a very wrong view. In Western countries today they are developing this kind of tradition or school but you must not follow it… Since Garab Dorje until today the transmission has continued without interruption. If there is no transmission you cannot enter into real knowledge, it’s impossible. That is why here it is saying that really you can have that knowledge only if you are connected with the three transmissions… To really enter into this knowledge by just reading books is a fantasy.”” This book contains a picture of Khyenrab Chokyi Ozer, by courtesy of Rinpoche himself, and the Tibetan text of the four lines written by his Master, translated by Adriano Clemente.
